LA Police Gear requires proof of active law enforcement employment for all California residents when purchasing batons. Active police, military, and security personnel in California may order batons, but civilians cannot. After you place your order online, it will be placed on a hold until we can verify your identification. The Monadnock Detective Classic Friction Lock Black Chrome Expandable Baton is made from cold drawn 4130 aircraft seamless alloy steel tubing. The precision Morse tapers (tight locking joints) improve the lock open function and make the baton feel solid in your hand. When the baton tip strikes a hard surface, the weight in the tip helps it close by providing additional shock to unlock the shafts
